It is often acceptance – and not just feasibility – that is increasingly determining the use of technology, and not only in developed countries.
The NEUHÄUSER Joesy Energy System is a self-sufficient block solution that uses jatropha nuts to generate electricity, and which wins over customers with its technical, environmental and social advantages, particularly in developing countries. Jatropha is an undemanding and versatile plant. The use of the plant's nuts as an energy source does not represent competition with food, since the fruits and oil are not suitable for consumption.
The technology using in the energy system is proven but the combination is innovative: the entire system fits into a handy container. It is fed with processed nuts and provides a reliably supple of electrical energy up to 100 kW/h – enough to run all the important facilities in a village. Any excess oil can then be used as a high-quality biodiesel.
As the system can be optionally combined with wind and solar energy, it further decreases dependence on conventional energy suppliers.

The oil of the jatropha nut is a fantastic alternative to lubricants and hydraulic oils. It can also be used as a biological fuel for heating and is used as a basis for many high-quality and organic care products

The press cakes made using the meal left behind after the oil production can be used as a high-quality animal feed with a crude protein content of around 60 per cent. For comparison, soy has a crude protein content of just 45 per cent.

Jatropha Tec provides an effective biofuel for engines used in power generators, combined heat and power plants, vehicles for people and cargo, tractors and other work machines (e.g. pump

After being suitably refined, the jatropha meal can be used as a natural fertiliser. Biogas is produced in an intermediate step

Provides electrical energy up to 100 kW/h. Optionally combining the system with wind and solar energy decreases dependence on conventional energy providers. Areas of application include medical care, water supply and treatment and information technology
